This case study highlights how Hospitality Energy Saving & Sustainability (HESS) supported a client in embedding sustainability at the heart of their kitchen design and build. From early concept to post-occupancy review, HESS worked closely with the kitchen design consultants to influence layout, equipment specification, ventilation, and future operational energy use.

Using their expert understanding of catering energy profiles, HESS identified over 40 energy-saving recommendations and projected a 36% reduction in operational carbon. The project showcases how proactive sustainability input at the design stage can unlock energy, cost, and carbon savings, support compliance with TM54/TM65 and BREEAM Gold, and deliver kitchens that are efficient, practical, and future-ready.
