We are excited to announce the partnership with The SCA UK and that The UK Coffee In Good Spirits Championships is taking place acrorss the three days of HRC this March.

The SCA UK represent the UK based members of the Specialty Coffee Association. Their primary aim is to organise and run the UK national coffee championships, which lead into the World Championships, and to host events, which inform, educate and bring together the UK coffee community.

The overriding goal of SCA UK is to spread the knowledge of great coffee! Whether this is through entering any of the championships we organise, or by attending any of the training, educational or social events we host throughout the year.

The SCA UK Chapter is fully run by volunteers; an elected committee and a non-elected sub-committee.

We are pleased to announce that in 2020, SCA UK is bringing the UK Coffee in Good Spirits Championship (UKCiGS) and UK Brewers Cup Championship (UKBrCC) to HRC in March!

UK Coffee in Good Spirits Championship (UKCiGS) Semi Finals

Designed to entice budding bar tenders as well as baristas, the Coffee in Good Spirits Championship is the only competition where entrants can use alcohol. In round one each competitor must prepare their own hot and cold designer coffee cocktails to present to the judges. The highest scoring six competitors progress to the final round, where they look to prepare perfect Irish Coffees and their own signature hot or cold coffee cocktails. Contestants are judged on their technical skills, the visual appeal of the drinks and, most importantly, on the taste of the drinks.

The winner of the UKCiGS will represent the United Kingdom at the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship at World of Coffee in Warsaw, Poland in June 2020.
