Kerry has an HR Generalist background dating back over 15 years, joining Compass Group UK&I in 2014 and most recently taking the lead on Talent Acquisition through technology. In 2021, the world of hiring changed, especially within the hospitality sector, with lower levels of labour supply and vacancies being the highest ever recorded, leading to a highly competitive marketplace. Kerry led the Compass team to think always through the ‘job applicants’ eyes’, streamlining candidates’ journeys, incorporating seamless technical integrations, and driving data-led decision-making – which has seen recruitment levels return to those achieved pre-pandemic. BUT, what comes next, keeping those you recruit, is more critical than ever, as otherwise, the ‘bucket’ continues to drip. Kerry is now on a retention journey, focussing on those new team members just recruited and those mid-career looking for the next move.
