Ian began his 40+ year career in the food industry as an accountant at Heinz, culminating in becoming Head of Finance based at Europe’s largest food factory. He started his commercial career running Heinz Beans and Pasta before becoming MD of John West after its acquisition by Heinz. Over more than a decade he was additionally Category Director - European Seafood, and Business Director - Western Europe and Seafood before joining Northern Foods as MD - Frozen Foods. During Ian’s years in the food industry he has run 3 of the Neilsen top hundred brands as well as co founding his own. He has also won two category New Product of the Year awards. Through How Many Beans? he continues to guide food and drink businesses in growing their products “From Thought to Fork”. To date more than 200 businesses have attended How Many Beans? workshops or received personal mentoring.
