Hugh Jones is a Specialist in Food Waste Prevention with WRAP’s Business Change and Collaboration Team based in the United Kingdom (UK). WRAP is a global environmental action NGO transforming our broken product and food systems to create Circular Living. For the benefit of the climate, nature, and people.
Hugh is part of WRAP’s team supporting food businesses to take action to reduce food waste. This work is focussed through the UK food waste pact The Courtauld Commitment 2030 | WRAP (C2030), the Food Waste Reduction Roadmap | WRAP and Guardians of Grub. Through collaborative action C2030 seeks to reduce food waste, greenhouse gas emissions and water stress. The Roadmap and C2030 targets are aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 12.3) to reduce food waste by 50% by 2030.
As part of the support to businesses Hugh facilitates Whole Chain Food Waste Reduction Plans (WCPs). These bring together partners from across the value chain in using a collaborative problem-solving approach to reduce food waste from farm to fork. Internationally Hugh has worked on development of the Global Roadmap for Food Waste Reduction in the Tourism Sector, the Toolkit for the Recipe of Change Campaign | UNEP and presented on WRAP’s work in Belgium, Brazil, Greece, Malta and Singapore
