Gareth Turner has over 25 years’ experience in global food and drinks businesses where he headed up the marketing for all kinds of household name brands including John Smith’s, Bulmers, Lurpak, Arla and of course Weetabix. Yes, he was the bloke in charge of the brand when they paired Weetabix with Heinz baked beans and practically broke the internet back in 2021. It won a bunch of awards, sparked a national debate and was even mentioned in the House of Commons. Since leaving to set up Big Black Door, a strategic marketing consultancy, Gareth has worked with brands like The Sauce Shop, Mighty Drinks, Hall & Woodhouse, Whyte & Mackay and Spoon Cereals to bring structure to their marketing and super charge their growth. Gareth is a regular guest on podcasts and has spoken at numerous events including MAD//Fest, Prolific North and The Marketing Meetup as both a keynote speaker and panel guest. He is also a regular contributor to marketing titles including Marketing Week.
