International Salon Culinaire is the UK’s largest and most prestigious chef competition programme. It will comprise of four competition categories – Salon Display, Live Theatre, Skills Theatre and Sugarcraft – which will showcase the terrific skills and talent within our industry. There will be over 100 different competitions taking place over the three days of the show.

The Salon Live Theatre will comprise 10 x adjacent workstations in semi-amphitheatre style which will incorporate a series of back to back hot live classes each day. The programme of competitions incorporates a wide variety of classes for chefs of all levels, challenging competitors to use skills, techniques and ingredients prominent in today’s modern-day professional kitchen. A programme of classes for chefs at the start of their career (apprentices, students and those new to competitions), which will enable them to hone and demonstrate the skills that will be vital to their career such as fish filleting, butchery, knife skills, pastry decorating etc. The Skills Theatre will also include some service competitions that will challenge front of house staff.

This showpiece section of the competition will incorporate a wide range of static classes to showcase an array of skills in different mediums, for both seniors, juniors and for some team classes. The sugar-craft section will host a range of different competitions attracting entries in a wide variety of styles and themes. Classes include showpieces, floral sugar-craft arrangements, wedding cakes, novelty cakes and much more.
